can i get the value of html field in an agent

hi
im having a html generated text field in a view
im embedding that view on a form
using javascript im able to get the values in those text field on form using fieldname[subscript].value where subscript is docnumber
but im not able to get these value in an agent using
this curdoc.fieldname(0...n)
or any value of any html generated field in a view
(im not talking abt html firld on from but in embedded view)
can i get it through some other method
