In Excel, I can use the Pivot Table feature to make what are essentially crosstabs. One of the nice perks is being able to have more than one column heading. For example I could have race as a column heading and sex as a sub-column-heading. So I would get one column like White_Male, then White_Female, then Af-Am_Male, then Af_Am_Female, using fields named Race and Sex.

How do I write a crosstab query in Access to do this? It won't allow me to have "PIVOT Race, Sex"

Thanks in advance

Access only allows 1 field for column headings but you can have more than one row heading. So, for example, if you wanted to determine the total number of females, males, race type for each class(freshman, etc.) group at a college you would set one row as sex, one as race with the column being class and the value being count of StudentID.
