Hi,

I'm not really a 123 user but some of my clients are. The problem i have is that every month i send a couple of enormous spreadsheets to our salesforce. An Excel version, which the recipient can filter to view there own data and a Lotus 123 version which is for those who don't have access to Excel.

Does anybody know if i can somehow allow the end users to filter the 123 spreadsheet so that they can view just there own data?

If you are using R4 or R5 for windows, then create a query table (after range naming the data range, which must include a first row of header labels). After invoking this command a query-table object will appear. Whenever the object is clicked the menu will alter to include data-query commands. IMO this offers superior list management functionality than any tool available to Excel.

I believe the newer versions (which I do NOT recommend) invoke Approach (the SmartSuite database program). Alternatively there may also be a query-table add-in available on the installation CD (?), which would mimic the R4 R5 process above and therefore be preferable. I have no experience with this.

The other option, available for all releases from R4-5 onwards, would be to create a DOS-style query with a dialog box to select from drop-downs. I use this method by preference but it is not automtic, it must be constructed.
