I have one new disk but two VG's I would like to extend. Can I do this? I am guessing not but I would like to verify with someone who might know for sure.

Thanks.

No you can't do this for sure!

Unless (That's one way) you have a Virtual IO server (VIO) where you can virtualize that disks on two LPARs as two separate disks and assign them to different VGs!

Thank you very much for the quick response. Ill have to give a little more thought on how I am going to do this.

If your new disk is larger (enough) than the existing disks, you could extend one vg, pvmigrate off of one of the smaller disks in the vg, then remove that smaller disk from the vg and add it to the other.

Thanks Rod! Ill look into that as that might be my best option.
