Can i end a user session using javascript and onunload

I want to know if it is possible to end a session on an apache web server.<br>When the user closes their browser I want to use onunload and javascript to send a message to the server to end that users session.<br><br>Is this feasable???<br><br>Any help gratefully recieved.

HTTP is stateless. This means when the server has finished sending a page to a browser, the connection is closed. Therefor you don't need to close a session!
