Using Crystal reports 8.5, I get a very nice chart, showing side by side bars for School, District and State values. But the Legend box shows "Sum of cr_datasample_sheet1.School" and an hour of trying to change it has revealed nothing. Is there something I am missing?

Hi,
You just right-click the chart, and select chart expert, in text tab, uncheck subtitle, then it will dispear.

Hope it help

Ted

I have found looking at the report in the analyzer tab makes editing much easier.

Preview the report and right click on the chart .. choose analyze.

In the analyze section, right click on the item you want to change. Select edit this item..

Thanks for your suggestions; I may not have been clear enough. I'd like to keep the legend, but have the entries read School District and State (instead of "sum of coretable.student").

When I click on Edit this Item in the Analyze tab, I can only get to change the colors, background, etc, not the text.

Any other ideas?

Agai, thanks for your quick offers of help!

Doh.. I checked and it doesn't bring up the text as well.. go to format chart -> titles.. you can edit the main titles in there.

You can change the Legend text only in CR 9, if you are using other versions just remove the legend and create a custom legend using, text, line and box.

oh, sorry, I misunderstood your question, what i mean is change the subtitle which will display above the chart.
