Hi Guys...

i've got a small problem..
Trying to move an application from my Netware 3.2 server ( stop laughing) to my NT 4 server ( i said stop laughing !! ) ..
But when the program was running from Netware it created file locks when users were accessing txt files , NT 4 does not , so 2 people can write to the same TXT file..

Is there a way i can stop this ?

Thanks.

Thanks.. but that Microsoft article deals with running FPNW on the NT4 server .

We are trying to move away from having netware anything , but the clients need to lock the files they use..

XP Pro Clients
NT4 Server

Thanks

There were a few other articles available in regards to setting up Opportunistic locking. Go to the main Kb site and perform a search on File Locking (under product Windows NT4 Server)

Yeah... iv'e checked the setting to turn the file locks on.... but we still have the problem..

2 machines can access the same file at the same time..

i need to stop this for files in a certain directory ?

Thanks
