Can I create a unique number for each report automatically?

I need to have an "auto number" field to assign a unique number to each report generated. Is this possible?

Consider that obtaining technical information on software is largely version dependent, add to that database when using Crystal.

There is a random function (RND) you might use, or you might create a subreport for each report which uses an SP that increments some value in a table.

You could generate hash total, say the year multiplied by three added to the day-number multipled by 77.
