If so, what references do i need to add and what is the exact name of the data control? Thanks!

Oh, I didn't mean use an ADO data control to create a form, I meant to say, can I use an ADO data control on a form created in excel :).

Don't have that!! All I found was Microsoft ADO Ext. 2.1 for DDL and Security, and I think that got me a Data Source Control. Can I do anthing with that?? That seems to be the only reference with ADO in it.

Hmmm...

Well, that's the ADOX object library, which you need to Access the Catalog and Command objects. You'll probably need that eventually anyway....

What you need to do is go to your toolbar (as opposed to library reference) and install the control. (If it's available) I use 97 and forms 2.0 and I did it by right clicking the toolbox, choosing additional controls, and clicking "Microsoft ADO Data Control 6.0 (OLEDB)".

Then, drag and drop the control on your form. Right click it, go to connection string, hit the ellipse(...), hit build, choose your provider and follow the prompts ! Tyrone Lumley

Sorry I didn't mention that, but that is what I did. I tried to add that control and it wasn't there. I think I read somewhere you have to have a developer's license to use it (I think that was actually in reference to the common dialog box) and that is why there are custom made controls out there that can be used instead of Microsoft's. I may be completely wrong, but I think that is why I can't see that control, is that possible? Thanks again for all your help :).

Also, since you are the man Mr. databaseguy :), you may be able to help me with this post:

Oops, I Do have VB6.0 Enterprise installed......

What you can do (what I did a while back) is go out and get a "Learning Edition" of VB. That at least gives you the license. I think I paid about $10.00 for it. Tyrone Lumley
