Can I convert Word documents with flow charts into Visio Documents

So the subject pretty much sums it up. I have some old process flow charts that seem to have been Visio docs at one time, are now word documents, and the Visio versions are gone. Can I convert the word back to Visio... and not by making the word a .tiff. I need to be able to change the flow.

Have you copied a drawing into Visio and converted the drawing to a group ? & then ungrouped the drawing
I use this method to open old Visio files from Word documents and drawings created using version 4.1 can be converted using Visio 2000
