Can I convert Word 97 documents to pagemaker? 2

I need to convert a large (98 page) Word 97 document which includes screen dumps and pictures to Adobe Pagemaker format. Can this be easily done? Is there anyone or any company (UK) who can perform this task?

Hi

You cannot convert a word document to a pagemaker document.
You can place the word document in a pagemaker document.

But all the the pictures must be removed, and placed afterwards into the pagemaker document.

The other way that CAN be done is to use Acrobat 4.0 and distill the word document into a .PDF file. All the formatting would be retained intact, and IMHO, the end result would be of higher quality than a Word doc can offer.

Hi Zanny.

For the same reason as mentioned above it is impossible to do that with all the pagemaker features intact. What you can do is export the text file to a word format, but then again the images and other graphical stuff must be replaced in theWord document.

If you wan't to export the text from pagemaker to Word: select the text with the text tool, go to the export feature under the file menu, where the option text is now available. Choose the export type you wan't and voilà your text has been saved for opening in word.

Naturally the pdf thing is always possible but editing the pdf is then again not possible anymore.

Every time I try to open my Pagemaker 6.5a I can't because it tells me the chuckmgr,lib can't be found. What gives?
