I have a 100 page book that was layed out in InDesign by someone else last year. It is done in reader spreads. I have updated the book for 2007. It needs to be perfect bound. My printer has said they would like it in single pages, not reader spreads. Can I convert from reader spreads to single pages easily? Perhaps using Master pages? Right now it has 2 master pages already applied. There are linked frames throughout. The last 60 pages are nothing but tables -- about 20 linked frames (3 times).

By reader spreads, do you mean facing pages - seeing 2 pages next to each other for all but the first & last page?

If so, you can go to File menu/document setup and uncheck "facing pages"

If, by reader spreads, you mean that the document is imposed for printing, the only solution I know of is to reorder the pages via the pages window or drag teh pages as needed into a new doc.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

Yes, I meant that the pages are facing. The printer has software that will impose the document for printing which is why they want it single pages.

Your tip worked so well! Thanks so much. This will save many headaches!

Update - only problem with this is that if the facing Master pages have folios on left and right side, when you uncheck "facing pages", the single pages revert to left hand master pages. So all page numbers are now on the left hand side. My printer had to go back and use the document that was set up with facing pages so that the document would print with the page numbers on alternating sides.
So, be careful when doing this.
