I posted this before, but don't know if it went through. I have a Merlin Magix system in a building and would like to extend some 4400 series sets to another location. All of my building are connected by fiber cabling.

I know that Avaya doesn't support this, but can I somehow convert a digital signal from a 4410D phone put it on fiber and place the 4410D phone at the remote location?

Thanks for your help.

I doubt it.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

My comment was for converting the signal from digital to optical and then back to digital again.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

The Citel (formerly MCK) extender and gateway works great. Your fiber is of course extending an Ethernet network. The key is there is a strict distance limit on the gateway from the Magix, and you may have to adjust the automatic echo cancellation settings on the extender.

I have a Magix with 12 field phones to different locations around an airport using field fiber. I'm using the 44xx type sets with a 12 port MCK unit installed near the Magix cabinet. At the field locations I have a MCK EXTender 4000 for each location and they work great. Three years and no troubles, can't beat that. There is a port on the back of the EXTender to plug a computer into also, so it acts like a small LAN hub..
