can i connect/manipulate DB located on server from my comp using CC...

i want to know if i can manipulate a mysql DB that's on a server where my website is using mysql control center that i have installed on my comp here at home...

the current server that serves my webpages has mysql, but they use a crappy manipulation tool through cpanel. i am so comfortable with using mysqlCC and would like to continue using it to adminster the DB on the server. is this possible, and how so?

this may be such an easy question, but i still don't know the answer.

Likely it is possible with the cooperation of the ISP. But look at it from their point of view. They are operating a database server which is used by a great unwashed multitude. Each customer (you) probably has a database on that server. They will want to protect that server so that when one of us does a bad thing, as we all do, it will not affect the others. So they manage the situation through controls which they know how to implement using cpanel.

They may or may not be willing and able to give you access with mysqlCC, but if they have any business sense, they will charge you extra.

Anyway, the answer lies with you ISP.
