Hello,

R10.1 Ip 500v2 on essential;

Customer wants to be able to toggle the Main Group fallback option without going to the office, they are on essential version. The scenario is they are not using time profiles and have their nights button manually turned on playing their regular night message via the Night Auto Attendant, the weather dumps 10 feet of snow and they can't get to the office to toggle the weather Attendant (triggered via using the out of service button).

Can this be toggled via an auto attendant? Right now I have a method for them to simply re-record the night AA remotely, but it would be smoother if they could simply toggle the out of service button remotely via a hidden option on the NightAA. Transfer to a short code that sets the out of service group on will not work from the AA (but does work internally).

I've done it for vmpro, but can't seem to figure out an easy way using essential. Either it can't be done or I haven't been "creative" enough.

These are for small business with essential version so getting them to VPN and use Manager, or web manager etc isn't going to work for many of them.

Any idea's?

Thanks!

Yes, that would've worked, however these are standard analog lines, so that's a no go.

You can I think by putting a user to forward to the SC to set the HG OOS. I would use a menu tree to make it harder for someone to do this by accident. In the AA have an option say 6 which goes to another AA with an option of 7 which then goes to the user that is forwarded. You can make the menu tree as long as you want.

Yeah, tried that, I tried these actions on the Auto Attendant transfer/normal transfer to a short code and also to a user that is forwarded to a short code. It doesn't work, it's like you can't transfer to a "set hungroup out of service" shortcode feature.

Those features used to work, and then Avaya disabled them. We used to use them all the time before R9 I believe.
Want fancy features? VMPro.

I used to be an ACE. Now I'm just an Arse.

Get a really cheap SIP trunk and use FNE :)

There are plenty of providers out there that give you a crappy (not guaranteed quality) SIP line for $1 a month and to enable and disable HG fallback it is plenty good.

Please people don't get all Rambo on me because you use some of those lines without issues or call quality problems.
I had one too at home but for business I would not want to take the risk.
