I'm running Cisco's CallManager 3.3. I have a group of 4 extensions and users that work as a call center for our facility. All calls come in on extension 7000 and then rollover to a backup extension 7001. We have a call pick group 70, which my four users are in and utilized answer all calls.

My users are currently user Cisco 7940 IP phones, with two lines. I am thinking of replacing the 7940 series phones with 7960 and share the 7000 and 7001 extesion on the phones in the call center. The users would also have access to two personal extensions in this scenario.

My problem is in this scenario is that one of the phones in the call center will have to have the 7000 extension as its primary extension so that the extension can be call forwarded to the answering service after working hours. As If understand this version of Callmanager correctly on the primary extension call utilize that feature. I'm hoping some can show me a better way.

If you don't want to put 7000 as the Primary line on a phone, you could have a User CFWD the line through the CCMUser web page.
I have used Extension Mobility and Hunt groups before for a small Call Center. Put the Hunt Group number on the EM profile so as the EM User 'Logs In' the Hunt Group number becomes active and can recieve calls. You could put a CTI Port CFWD to the Answering service as the last member in the Hunt Group so when no one is Logged In, it automatically go's to the CTI Port.

Thank you for your response.

I don't to confuse my users by giving them access through the web page, I have thought of that.

But your second option sounds very possible. I have used Extension Mobility before but what do you mean by Hunt group? And how would set that up?

Go to Cisco.com and download the Administrator Guide for your version. Look for the section on Attendant Console. It explains setting up Pilot points and Hunt Groups.
