I have more than 50 DTS packages. Is there a way to backup the DTS packages except to do 'Save as'.

Thanks

I would however suggest that you do, at some point in time, go back into your packages and save them out as Structured Storage Files.

This will create a .dts file for each one in a user selected folder. Then you can back these up for safe keeping too.

If your database server where ever to go belly up and hose all your DB's, systems ones included, you would loose all of your DTS packages too.

In fact, if you read a couple of post back, you will see where I helped another indivigual that had his server die. All he had to restore was the jobs that started the DTS packages. Since the jobs only start the package and do not contain any other info ... he was toast.

Worst of all ... his backup tape w/ the MSDB database was also hosed... Time to start over. Recreating 50 packages make for a long weekend if you catch my drift - lol.

Enjoy!

Thanks
