I am using FrontPage 2002 and connecting to SQLServer. I am using text fields for the users to update the database.
I have a customer table, dealer table and purchases table.
My first problem is that I need the customer number field to be entered into the customer table and purchase table. So how do I have the user only enter it once and have the same field appended to two different tables?
My second problem is that the customer number only needs to be added to the customer table if the customer is not already listed there. So, I have it setup to search and return records if the customer number matches one listed in the table. But is it possible for me to hide forms based on the database results? If so, how? If not, do I need to redirect to two different pages based on whether or not any results are returned from the database and how?
I do have it set up so that the SQLServer won't let it add duplicate or null values, I am just trying to save a few keystrokes for the users.
