Hello,

I'll start by saying I'm a Nortel guy 100% but I do work on Avaya systems as well, mainly the IPO. I basically just need to find out if extension numbers can be changed ie. performing a DN change on a Norstar. I will give a little more detail here, I have a Partner system that exts. 10-17 aren't working any longer because of what I'm being told is due to a power spike. I ended up being able to move the exts over to unused ports on a separate module just to get some phones working for the customer but now the exts are all different. I'm also sitting here realizing that with ext 10, 11 no longer working I'm not going to be able to reprogram anything...? Unless there is some way to change these ext numbers. Please advise.

Big drawback of the Partner. They will probably want to get a new processor as you cannot change extension numbers on the system. They are static to the port and cannot be reprogrammed.

Yes. Extensions are tied to the specific port on the system, so 10-17 on a Partner R6 processor will always be 10-17.

3x8 Partner ACS processors are inexpensive at this point. If you replace the old processor with one of the same release...you can use a PCMCIA to transfer the programming. [smile]
