We have a very particular Software package that gets very annoyed with disconnected sessions. I know I can reset a dissconnected session after 1 min. but is there a way to not allow users to disconnect the session at all. on both MetaFrame XP and 1.8

Thanks

Sheri

2 types of disconnections: either connection cut off by faulty hardware or unstable internet (if you use that), or users using the X to close a session, instead of logging off.

Number 1 can be fixed with making sure the session is not broken, by making sure that the connection is kept alive:

[KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
"KeepAliveTime"=dword:0000ea60
"KeepAliveInterval"=dword:000003e8

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix]
"IcaEnableKeepAlive"=dword:00000001
"IcaKeepAliveInterval"=dword:0000003c

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
"TcpMaxDataRetransmissions"="10"

Also check all hardware like routers, firewalls and managed switches
for idle settings, and make sure they are not active.

As for number to, there is a tool, that disabled the X in an application windows, forcing the users to use the logoff option:
