Does anyone know how to set the FILE_FLAG_NO_BUFFERING parameter in VB. It apparently is available for C, but I don't see how to set it for VB. I am interested in writing a disk test to exercise the disk, and with buffered I/O, NT moves the data through cache, so the disk activity is not constant.
Thanks
Well If you know "C" write a "C" program and call it from VB.
DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Good observation, Doug. VB is a little weak in some areas. I'm a little weak in C so I do all my low-level calls by shelling to QB45 apps. Hey, it works! How many Visual Anythings can set the OEM ID on a disk?
all i ever do here at work is write ActiveXs in VC++ so that the VB programmers can use it's complex level functionality. (That and also they paid 600$ for the TCP/IP source code, from dundas, which happened to be VC++ and they needed a VC++ programmer to customize it cuz they didnt wana be limited with the 300$ activeX version)
Karl
kb244@bellsouth.net
<a href=
