Can Delphi read and reply to e-mail?

I need to develop a project which will read incoming e-mail, look for specific details, and then automatically reply if necessary - including a .GDB file.

Is there some guru out there who can point me to where I might find something
on this.

Yes, Delphi can read and write email. There are several ways to do this, but the most broadly supported that I've found is to use the MAPI (Mail API) provided by Windows itself.
