I was wondering if there was a way for a Nortel CS1000 to warn me, through email, or page, etc. if I have a route where all trunks busy is being encountered.
I don't know if TM, or SNMP would be able to do this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
The only way that I know of is to have an attendant console with that route appearing on it. The button associated with that route will flash if all trunks are busy (The attendant can also manually busy out the route by pressing the button).
You just might want to do a traffic study and get more trunks if you need them, instead of letting your users get a busy tone. Start with 4 and move up from there. Make a deal with your carrier for adding more trunks.

If none of your other ideas pan out, you could put a single trunk in a route, and have it be the last choice outgoing entry in all or some route lists. Then a little electronics could set off an alert or relay "if that trunk is used".
It would be more fooling around than one might want, but it would for sure work.
