Can Crystal XI work with Oracle 8i?

Hello all,

I just installed Crystal Reports XI on a station here and I'm trying to go through the typical motions of connecting to our DB, which is Oracle 8i.

Simply trying to establish a connection by opening a report that would retrieve data does not work and returns an alert error:

Failed to load database information
Details: The database connector 'crdb_oracle.dll' could not be loaded.

Is there a newer driver/dll to download somewhere? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, you need to install a new driver. Check on the BO website. In the same situation (Oracle 8i and CR XI), we used a DataDirect driver: CR Oracle ODBC Driver 4.20.
