Currently we have crystal Reports 7 on our internal webserver. We copy up the .rpt files and call the reports with asp. Users view the reports using the ActiveX Viewer.
Finally I have convinced Management to upgrade me to CR11 Developer.
Question is can they coexist on the same internal webserver while I change the CR7 Reports or do I need to upgrade all my reports 1st then switch over? Can anyone point me in the direction of a relivent post?

Chances are no. CR7 and CRXI R2 are several crystal engine versions apart. To upgrade you may have to purchase 10 to get to XI. Check with your bobj rep. They changed the whole engine in CR9.

Thanks so much!

Check your reports, you may not have to upgrade them for them to work in the new viewer and XI will read older versions of reports.

However, we had some problems with version 8 reports in the XI viewer due to our use of the Oracle db driver. The SQL lost all of the links between the tables - the were there in the Database Expert but not in the SQL. The only way we got them to work was to recreate them from scratch in XI. However, our reports that use the SQL Server db driver came through with no problems, so it depends on the db that you're connecting to.
