We'd like to have only one ODBC dataset (with a default database), but upon refreshing a Crystal report, it would prompt us as to which database we would like to report on.

Same question, asked differently: Is it possible to change the active database while in Crystal?

Or alternatively, how can we pass a variable to Crystal that determines the database to connect to? Or the ODBC DSN name to use?

Try to discover what version of Crystal is intended to be used, and what develpoment language.

The answer is probably yes.

At least one of the 3rd-party Crystal Reports viewers listed at: can allows interactive as welll as command line argument selection of the ODBC DSN used for the report.

If you decide to develop the functionality yourself, please specify the development environment and where exactly are you stuck.
