Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me this is driving me crazy.

I have 2 remote offices connected to a central office with exchange 2003 on server 2003. We recently had a database crash on the exchange server and had to rebuild it to get email flowing again. We have remote users who are not connected via a VPN and they are working fine. In these two office I can connect on a handful of older computers that are running Outlook 2000 but not on any running Outlook 2003.

I am stumped, could this be a problem with our VPN? Is it related to the DB crash which is when it started? Is it a problem on the client side or did miss something on the server set up?

I am at a loss any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your Outlook 2003 clients may have been configured in cached mode. Have you tried deleting the corresponding .ost file, or indeed tried recreating the Outlook profile.

Good advice from MiniOrganMorgan.

Also, how did you repair the database crash? Did you run ISINTEG several times until all problems were either zero or consistently the same?

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

Hi,

I am having a similar issue. I have several users who connected to my old Exchange 5.5 server thru their VPN. However...after I installed a new 2003 Exchange server...all my users who have upgraded from Outlook 2002 to 2003...can't connect anymore. Very strange. It actually appears to be a DNS issue. But why on the newer Outlook and not the older ones??

I'm perplexed.
