asa is not supported on a handheld pc if it's not running full-blown windows system. it is pretty useless anyway, considering that most pdas do not have any keyboard so having asa on it would be just a fancy toy not a useful tool.
all pda models with keyboards i've seen are completely unusable. they may be well suited for people who need to input few data occasionally, but completely unusable for engineers. how do you imagine entering commands on this tiny keyboard? or pressing action buttons? on the screen? let's not be silly, it's not work but nightmare.
if you need some portable solution smaller than ordinary laptop, take a look at small & lightweight notebooks. there are plenty of 'em with 9-12" screen and usable keyboard, with low weight and rich features, running standard windows. like ibm thinkpad x32, for example.
I dont want to use it to do much more the trouble shoot during outages. Or when walking through the airport, so i dont have to sit down and open my laptop and use my air card. I've got like 10 gateways off of a 8700 and we all know stuff happens. I would never try to add a trunk group while using the thing, but if i could do a remote reset or busy release a card then thats great.
well, i guess pda would do for these limited tasks. but you can't run asa on it, it just won't work. you have other choices though, try to find any telnet/ssh client for windows mobile. i know there's a putty fork for this platform but it seems to be dead. maybe something other out there...
putty is A Free Telnet/SSH Client. small, lightweight, feature-rich and more of that, completely free. very good as replacement for asa if you don't need task scheduler, reports and other stuff, just terminal emulator.
