We have just tested the subject question using ARCserve 2000 to attempt to recover a SYSTEM disk to its originally backed up functional status. So far it has failed badly. If anyone has done this could you please point us in the right direction. Our target system are 1. Compaq ML370, 2. Gateway 4200. Both are Windows 2000. The ARCserver Server is a Gateway 4200, Windows 2000 with ARCserve 2000.

Don't know what to tell you. I have done DR on probably six different systems.

The thing is that basic installations have always worked for me with no problem. As soon as you get beyond that things get difficult.

I just followed the manual for the steps. For special cases I had to work it out. For instance I tested a NT 4.0 Terminal Server. TS would not support the parallel install that DR does, so I used a standard NT 4.0 CD for DR and it worked great. I recorded the steps I used for a SAN NT 4.0 and W2K DR, but I doubt they will be of any use to you.
