Re-import Subreports When Opening Reports - Can anyone tell me if the property "Re-import Subreports When Opening Reports" should be checked in Crystal Reports options under file. As developers has anyone see a problem with using the default value for "Re-import Subreports When Opening Reports" as not being checked meaning that the subreports are not reimported when opening a report?

Personally,

I wouldn't have the auto-reimport option checked. You should not need to reimport subreports unless you have changed the database structure or the look of the subreport. If this is the case Crystal can be a bit picky at times about recognising the new subreport version and the main report may sometimes corrupt.

I have found best practice is to manually reimport the subreport if you make aesthetic changes (by right clicking on the subreport and choosing reimport) and if you make data changes (add/change fields) to delete and reinsert the subreport, remember to reconnect links between the two if there are any.

Hope this helps.

Phil.
