If you can print 22500 pages with 7.5% coverage on one page with an ink cartridge, how many pages can you print with 5% coverage?

I'd appreciate if you could tell your logic to get the answer, too. Thanks!

7.5% - 5% = 2.5%

You can print 2.5% more pages.

22500 X 2.5% = 562.5

22500 + 562.5 = 23062.5 pages.

Hi, mintjulep . Thanks for your answer. Not sure if we're printing 2.5% more pages.. I guess one page gets 2.5% less coverage, but.. hmm.. Let me think about it. Thanks anyways.

My answer is 33750.

22500 x 0.075 gives me pages of 100% ink. Now you devide by 5% to get the right answer. Is this right logic?

Hmm.

Ok, try this:

22,500 pages x 7.5% coverage/page = N pages X 100% coverage/page

N = 1687.5 pages

1687.5 pages x 100% coverage/page = S pages x 5% coverage/page

S = 33,750 pages.

Hello, yes, that seems to be right. Thanks for your logic to verify!

It's inverse proportionality task which coould be solved by Inverse Rule of Three:
Code:
22500 pages ... 7.5% coverage
    x pages ... 5  % coverage
-----------------------------
x * 5 = 22500 * 7.5
==> x = 22500 * 7.5 / 5 = 33750
