Can anyone help me program my welch allyn 3000-02?

We just bought a second hand Welch Allyn 3000-02 barcode scanner but it seems that there is no programming menu with it. All it can do now is scan code39 barcodes but we want it to scan everyday products, which are probably UPC/EAN barcodes.
Can anyone help me find the programming menu for the Welch Allyn 3000-02? It is not the 3000PDF, we have found that manual but the codes are not recognised by our scanner.....

Yes we also found this manual but as I said, the codes are not recognised by our scanner. The types in it are 3000-X1, 3000-X2 and 3000-X3, which probably are newer than the one we have here.....
