Hi all,
Recently we had a Remote agent initialization problem, when our backup server tried to back up files on remote machines.
(We use Backup exec 8.6 and OS Win2k Server)
One of the Veritas tech support documents, suggests changing a key in the registry that has to do with the remote agent, in order to fix the problem.
The key is located in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Veritas>Backup exec>Agent accelerator.
The suggestion in the document was to change the AddedToRNR key this way : changing radix from Hex to Decimal
and changing value from 1 to 0.
This change fixed our problem but there is a certain discomfort -
Everytime the Backup Exec remote agent service is restarted (sometimes we need to restart it manually), the change in the registry goes back to it's default.
Needless to say, going to the registry on 2-3 servers each day and making the change again and again is annoying.
Does anyone have any idea how i can prevent from this registry change "jumping" back to it's default?
Thanks in advance!
