Can an image/graphic be saved to a JDE 8.12 table?

I am developing a custom, 3rd party application (Proof of Delivery) for JD Edwards 8.12 which captures a signature from the recipient of a delivery. The signature can be saved as a bitmap (BMP) file. Can this graphic (signature bitmap) be saved to a JD Edwards table? Is there a business function for this in 8.12?
