Can an email address be traced ?

I am receiving emails from an annonymous source. The emails have attachments which I haven't opened naturally. Is there any way of finding out anything about the addressee ? Appreciate any advice.

Try the headers, you get to view these in different ways depending on what you use as a e-mail client.

It's pretty tough because most of the stuff in the headers can be forged. Additionally, you can setup your e-mail client to make it look like e-mail sent by you originated from Bill Gates or whoever.

Assuming the headers aren't forged, you can try
