Hi guys,
I have two Epsom thermal printers that work just fine when I plug them into one of my Aloha POS terminals. The only problem is, since I bought these from a restaurant that went under, the old logo from the other restaurant is still showing up. I asked my Aloha dealer how to do it and He told me He can't tell me for free since I didn't buy the printer from him. Is this a relatively simple issue?

Thanks for any help!
Ty

Oops the subject is wrong on this post that was a question I was going to ask but then I remembered I needed to fix this logo issue first.

If i'm correct, you can remove the logo using the Epson printer utility for that POS printer. Otherwise, in Aloha Manager, under maintenance - hardware - printer, there is a setting for Preloaded Logo. Set it to None.

As for Aloha under a virtual environment, it can be done. I do know that Aloha has issues seeing the HASP key when running like that. I am testing some proof of concept hardware that only runs aloha and windows in a virtual environment. It took both NCR and my reseller to get it running.

Hope I was of some help.

@OP and @MenulinkMan

I have never had any problem running 5.3.23 or 6.5.xx in a VMWARE 6 Windows XP environment using XP as the Host and the guest. (32bit only no 64bit) No security key issues for a parallel port key. Never tried with a USB key (I've never even seen a USB key) :) Never tried Windows 7 but I know from posts in this forum Aloha has or has had security key issues with 64 bit systems.

I run USB keys, and have seen where a VM with Windows sometimes doesn't like to see either the USB, network, or both. It does seem to be getting better though. The issue seems to stem from the host OS taking control of the USB ports and not allowing the VM to access them.

You might need to switch to USB keys when you get to higher versions of Aloha. I did notice that when I went to Aloha 6.7, the parallel port keys didn't always work. Once I switched to USB, all of my issues went away.

I have run QS-6.4.20 in a XP VM environment on Windows 7 Pro Host (my BOH server) as an emergency backup.
