Can Acrobat generate a TOC?

I need to build large documents (intended for print) quickly and efficiently by creating a PDF from multiple files: a mix of Word and Excel. Acrobat can do that and allows me to add headers and footers after the fact (very cool).

Can it generate a printable table of contents and lists of tables and figures using the page numbers assigned in the headers and footers? If so, how?
