Strange problem...my Ethernet NIC stopped responding to pings even though I have no problems pinging other devices and network connectivity is good. I'm running XP Pro and have Norton AnitVirus installed.

I turned off the WinXP and Norton firewalls and still couldn't ping. I do a pretty good job of keeping Spyware and viruses off my PC. In addition to Norton I use Ad-aware Pro, Spybot, and Spyware Blaster, so I don't think it's that. I could dig into it a bit more but it just seems too strange. No problem getting to the net, but I can't ping my own interface and othter PCs on the same subnet can't ping this adapter.

Any ideas?...(thanks is advance)...

Even if the WinXP firewall is off, it can interrupt packets. Stop the service, then try it.

Oh yeah!...I knew that. Ummm...okay, I didn't know that...*grin*

Thanks much, I'll give that a shot.
