Here's the scenario we're trying to accomplish:

Caller calls into an office anytime day or night; a recording plays explaining the call may be recorded and info used to collect a debt; the caller is then transferred (or perhaps dials 0) to get to the receptionist.

This is their hardware setup.

Partner 7 with messaging module (not the PC Card)
9 incoming lines
Auto-attendant which only runs at night; they have a staff person manning the phones during the day.

Is there a second AA that I can program to only respond to one of those 9 lines? They're planning on circulating the phone number of Line 9 as the line for debtors to call them.

I hope I'm clear enough... I can't quite wrap my head around how to do what they want. Voicemail box for the one line which states the disclaimer and then instructs them to press 0 before it hangs up on them?

Their lines are thru Optimum - do maybe we just want to use their "Virtual Receptionist" and be done with it? The $15/mo isn't a deal breaker, but if they can do it in house, I'm sure they'd prefer it...

Thoughts?

I believe you can assign different telephone lines to different auto attendants. I don't have access to my documents at this time though. [sad]

Partner Messaging Release 7 has 4 automated attendants. In AA 2, 3, and 4, option 6 is to assign or delete lines to the auto attendant. A line not assigned to AA 2, 3, or 4 will go to AA 1.

Use the #206-7-09-1 to route the calls to the AA(s), use #506-2-09-X to set the number of rings (use 2 if you receive caller ID), and #507-09-1 to set to Always (day and night mode). Assign line 9 to AA2 in the voicemail's auto attendant programming.

Set the phones to DELAYED ring for line 9, so they won't make ringing sounds before the AA picks up, but will ring if the VM system is down and can't answer

Use #502-2-XX-1 to assign the extensions that will answer line 9

In voicemail, create Mailbox 72, "with a phone"

In automated attendants, select AA number 2, day menu, change all selector codes to "Not Used" except for 0 (which is also timeout), set to Transfer to Extension 72. Record your disclaimer as the automated attendant prompt.

In #105, set the number of rings you want that call to ring the phones before mailbox 72 answers (0 if you don't want any mailbox coverage)

For AA2 in the night mode, you could direct the 0/timeout to a mailbox, or even disconnect (make the message say call back during business hours so they can't leave a message.

Tommy,

You are a gentleman and a scholar - and if there some way for me to buy you a beer, I would gladly. Can't thank you enough for sharing.
