Can a working checkbox be inserted into a Word Doc?

Just like the question... Can I insert a checkbox into a word document that works? Meaning, when you open of the word document, you would see a check box. When you put the cursor on it and click, it would be checked or unchecked.
 
Yes...of course...make sure you can access the Visual Basic toolbar (View -> Toolbars -> Visual Basic). Then when the Visual Basic menu appears click the Control Toolbox button (it has, as an icon, a picture of a hammer and spanner) to display a dialog of components you can add to your document.
You will see in this dialog a check box component. Click it once then click once on your document to place it. Clive [infinity]
