Can a web start app access EJB's ?

If i write a client application assuming a base level of JRE1.3 on the client to be launched using Java Web Start 1.2, is there any issues with my app accessing EJB's ? Has anyone done this before ? i've heard some people may have had problems but not sure if this has been fixed in 1.2. If not, i'll revert to Servlets i guess. Anyone have any experience ? All my users are within a corporate intranet.
