Hello all,

I hope I am missing something: I am using Business Objects Enterprise XI.
I have a report that connects to 2 dbs, I can run fine from Crystal reports (same system where I have the server).

When I run or scheduled from the central management console it fails with Failed to open the connection.

Question: is it possible to schedule a report that connects to multiple dbs?

Thanks

The server needs the same connecivity available in terms of driver and user.

-k

so it is possible if it uses the same driver and user/pwd ?

Hi,
also, if the databases are are different servers or even in different folders on the same server, be sure that the job server has sufficient rights to access them...

jog server? where do I check for these rights?

thanks

Hi,
In the CCM, the various BOE services are configured and, for each, there is an option of specifying what account the service should run under..For scheduled reports, the Report Job Server is the service that actually runs the report, so the account it runs under will need rights to access the datasource ( unless the datasource is something like Oracle, where no physical access to a database file is needed)...

Just to add to Turkbear' comment...

In the case of Oracle, each service would need access to (at minimum) the Oracle 9.2 driver - and a valid TNSNAMES.ORA file.

We use SQL and I schedule numerous reports crossing multiple db's. The key is the permissions

Seems like an obvious solution, but I have received the same error when I forgot to enter login information for both db's !!

Be sure (on the database tab in the CMC) that you click on each database and enter the logon ID & PW for each.
