Can a partition be hidden?

Please explain what it is exactly that you are trying to accomplish. It sounds to me like you may not neet the partition after all.

Rename the partition/drive with a period at the start of the name. Beware that this method is reckless. Most things that can be hidden can be unhidden with minimal effort. You may want to search for true security management utilities as hiding files, folders and drives is a pretty useless way to protect data.
