Can a NAM 2.2 be upgraded to 3.0 or 4.0 software?

I have a NAM 2.2 but would like to have mailbox passwords to not have expiry dates.
The NAM 2.2 only allows a maximum of 365 days before expiry. Apparently the 3.0 version allows a COS option for 'no expiry' of mailbox password.

Therefore, I need to know what is required to upgrade to a 3.0, or if there is some patch for 2.2 that allows non-expiring passwords.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Pat,
Is your NAM a I or a II? Essentially copper or fibre?

Yes. We upgrade these quite often. As it's a R2.2 it must be a copper NAM as fiber NAMs were released at R3. It would require sending the unit to have the hard drive replaced and the RAM upgraded.

Was there a set of disks to upgrade the OS or is the 2.2 drive of insufficient capacity to run the newer OS?

Thanks,

Would I be able to backup the CCR trees, mailboxes, etc, onto disks without loss of data?

If I will lose information, what exactly is lost?

Thanks,

Honestly, I'm not sure. You can certainly backup your current NAM programming, but I'm not sure if you would be able to restore your backup to a R4.1 NAM without corruption of the data. You could send me a copy of your backup disks and I could restore them to a R4.1 NAM we have in stock to see if it works.

voice compression is different the programming should be fine but all recordings will be just garbage

Brian,

I have a NAM4.x somewhere around here so I will try a restore from the 2.2 on it and see when happens. If all the recordings are gone, so be it. The expiring timer is the greater frustration.

Thanks,
