Hello!

two questions:

(1) Can a Mitel 5224 and 5207 tag its packets with the right VLAN number (dot1q header)?

(2) Can a Mitel 5224 and 5207 use "auto VLAN discovery" (using a special option in the DHCP-reply packet)?

Thank you in advance!

option 1 - Yes. Remove power from the set, press the Vol up button and reapply power. This will take you into configuration mode of the set. You can statically set the VLAN ID in network settings.

TIP - instead of removing power you may be able to press both volume buttons, release only the volume down button, press 234 on dial pad and then release volume up button.

Option 2 - ??? I don't know for sure. Perhaps someone else here does.

Good Luck.

My Biggest problem is that I almost always believe what I tell myself.

Option 2 is done via options 132 and 133 on a DHCP server. (or 125 if the phones have been upgraded and you have release 7)

DHCP Options 128, 129, 130, 132, and 133 should all be set as per instructions in the Tech Handbook.

Thank you very much! I'm going to try that!!
