I have a Meridain 11C PBX with a NT8D14BB Trunk card. Can this take POTS lines.

If so how to configure?

YUP SURE CAN, BUT I WOULD DEFINITELY ORDER GROUND START LINES FROM TELCO.
LD 16 BUILD A NEW RDB, TYPE WILL BE COT. THEN GO TO LD 14 AND BUILD YOUR TRUNKS.

if the lines are from VOIP will this be any problem?

YUP, BECAUSE WHAT I'VE SEEN ARE ALL LOOP START. YOU CAN ASK THEM TO MAKE THEM 4W E/M, BUT YOU WILL NEED A EM TRUNK CARD.
IF YOU TAKE THE LOOP START MODE EXPECT TO HAVE NOTHING BUT TROUBLE

Oh would Nortel NTN502AA POTS Line Cards work?

the trunk card will work, loop start have a history of problems in any pbx. timers, disconect supervision etc.. they will work but takes some tweaking to get the bugs out. another known problem is dial 9 to dial out and answer a incoming call, look for "glare". the old term for that

Seems that by connecting the POTS to the trunk card they are working for outgoing as long as the lines (LD 14)are configured in grd. However, when configuring them in loop mode they quite working.

I am sure this is the tweaking you are talking about.
