If a person is working alone in a dangerous environment, there is a requiremenmt that the worker regularily confirms he/she is OK. Can a telephone be programmed to raise an alarm if not used within a 10 minute interval?, or similar solution?
I think that you can using DECT 4xx phones. Not 100% sure of the model number but one of them has a motion sensor. If no motion detected after an adjustable timer an alarm can be sent. I think that you can get the Ascom kit to do one or more things when the alarm is active. Sorry but that's all I know about it from memory...

46.6.8 Non-movement
Switch on or off the Non-movement alarm. The A icon indicates that Non-movement alarm is operational. The alarm is activated when the telephone has not been moved within 30 seconds (This time is a predefined time and can be changed by the system administrator). A warning signal sounds for 5 seconds before the alarm is activated and the A icon starts to flash.
To cancel the alarm, move the telephone or press any key. If the alarm has not been reset during the warning signal, the alarm is sent. If the telephone is placed in a charging bay, the alarm is temporarily disabled.
Select Settings in the DT4x0 menu and press OK.
Select Non-movement and press OK. The current setting On or Off is shown in the display.
Select the required setting and press OK
