a question about running old Mac programs on a "newer" Mac. The Mac is newer than the programs although near ancient if measured in internet time, being that it is a G3 PowerPC w/ 400MHz CPU and MacOS 10.4.7.

I do not have the Mac computer yet but have just ontemplated
purchasing it as a second computer. It may not have exactly these specs, but something similar.

The programs are a HyperCard Player from 1993 and Apple Quicktime from 1992.

OK, for Quicktime I can probably use a newer version. But for the HyperCard Player I can probably not find a newer version.

Are there any possible compatibility issues in this sort of scenario?

thanks in advance...

I don't remember Hypercard being available for PPC so you may need to run this in a Mac emulator on your Mac ( ). If you go the emulation route, you can download OS7.5 for free from apple.com.

'G3 PowerPC w/ 400MHz CPU and MacOS 10.4.7' seems like you are pushing the limits of the system resources. If you can get this to work, you may want to consider an OSX hypercard player:
