I was on my friend's computer when I was attacked via DoS. I heard my modem making noise like you hear when you pick up the phone but through the modem speaker. I want to know if the two are related. If not then what could it be?

This is a bit late, but it sounds as if the computer told the modem to disconnect, then to go off-hook again.

There's no predicting, or really analyzing, what a computer will do when subjected to a DoS attack. It depends on the nature of the attack, the operating system, and exactly what the computer was doing (which instruction the CPU was executing) at the moment the attack caused it to stop working properly.
