Can a Digital phone log missed calls? 1

I read this in the FAQ section (link below) but it doesn't seem to work for me.

1. I can't add the 'soft' buttons but can add hard buttons to a 6400 series digital phone.

It indicates when a message is left, but not calls missed.

Does the PBX have to be MV? I tried on a si V10.1 with no luck. Anyone else try this with sucess?

yes it can!!!

Programming the phoneset:
1. Enter the command change station xxxx
2. On page 2, set the field LWC Log External Calls to "y".
3. Program the following buttons (soft-keys): msg-retr and delete-msg

Using the feature:
1. When a call is missed (abandoned or covered) the MWI-light lights up. Select the msg-retr button to see time, date and number of the caller. (Use next to scroll through the data)
2. Use the delete button to delete the missed-call message.
(3. Press next to scroll through all messages)
4. Press exit to return to normal mode.
 
This will work on r10 systems,

Check on system parameters features page 2 for these settings;
- max no. of external calls per station: >0
- MWI for external calls? - yes

Then check the station form, page 2,
LWC log external calls? set to yes

This should be enough for you to log missed calls (external only)
 
Thanks for the reply TelecomUser. I did get it work on a 9.5 r load with a DID. I didn't know that it will only work with external calls only. No way to log internal calls this way?

Still can't get it to work with my si with no DID. I have reception that transfers external calls to my extension but still doesn't log it even though its an outside call.
 
I even tried changing one of my trunks incoming dest to point directly to my extension with no luck.
 
If the calls are transferred from reception you will not get missed call notification.

Otherwise I can't see why that wouldn't work, especially if the call is delivered direct to your extension. I'll certainly have a look into it and I'll update the post if I find anything
 
this is a great tip. anyway we could do this with internal calls

 
Nice feature. Sucks that on the 6408D+ that it you cant place the two buttons up in the soft keys.

When you call Audix it will tell you that you have "1 new leave word calling" message, but no option to listen to it. Anyway to listen to your missed calls from Audix?
 
mikewasser one step that was left out was you have to go to your cha sys fea and on page 2 at the top you will have your LWC Parameters. You need to set them.

LEAVE WORD CALLING PARAMETERS
Maximum Number of Messages Per Station: 10
Maximum Number of External Calls Logged Per Station: 10
If it is set to 0 it will not work.
